Big Time Brewing. Fools Progress Belgian Dubbel. Apparently Seattle does not appreciate the aromatics as much as I do. Good beer, sweet, but lacks the I AM A BELGIAN BEER aromatics I look for. Still, I could have a few pints of this if I was not driving.
Hopfest - Ahtanum - Sweeter then I expected for a beer named Hopfest. Beer is completely balanced and tastes great, but there is no shiver.
Spencers ESB - Ok, the hops start with this beer. There is a great malt\hops balance, but the finish is all hops. Not the grapefruity citrus with Cascade, but definitely a harsh finish. Too hoppy for the style, if you were anywhere but the Pacific NorthWest.
Old Rip Oatmeal Stout - Meaty, big stout. Nice roast smooth finish.
Octoberfest Harvest Ale - Lots of malty sweetness. Closer to a traditional marzen then expected. Hops does hit in the finish, but does not detract from the malty sweetness of the OFest style beer. This is an ale, no lagering happens at Big Time.
Cask - Scarlet Fire IPA. Wow, the cask smooooths out this beer. The malt sweetness definitely balances this beer out with the cask versus the edge that is present with a CO2 delivery.
Seattle - Vancouver Oct 2006
